Moissanite Is Gaining in Popularity as an Alternative to Diamond
Release time: 2024-07-10
Though diamonds still generally rule for engagement rings and romantic jewelry purchases, this lab-created alternative appeals to the environmentally-minded (and to those on a budget).
NEW YORK (MainStreet) — Diamonds represent 41% of overall retail jewelry sales, but in recent years, moissanite jewellery has been gaining in popularity on the diamond, particularly in the engagement and wedding ring market.
Moissanite’s increasing popularity is largely due to the perception of it as an environmentally sustainable alternative to the diamond, while also being much more affordable (about one-tenth the price).
